LGBTQ+ events that had been scheduled to take place at the Kennedy Center during the World Pride festival in Washington, D.C. have been canceled, organizers said on Friday.

“We are a resilient community, and we have found other avenues to celebrate,” said June Crenshaw, deputy director of Washington's Capital Pride Alliance, according to the Associated Press. “We are finding another path to the celebration … but the fact that we have to maneuver in this way is disappointing.”

The Kennedy Center's Tapestry of Pride was scheduled for June 5 to 8 and the webpage is still live as of Saturday.

The Kennedy Center has not commented publicly on the reported cancellation.

President Donald Trump had fired the president of the center and the board chairman in February. The new board elected Trump as chairman.
