World leaders are expected to gather in Rome on Saturday morning for the funeral of the late Pope Francis, who died on Monday from a stroke and heart failure at his home in the Vatican.

Here is everything you need to know about the upcoming mass, which will take place early Saturday morning for U.S. viewers.

What time is the funeral and how to watch it?

The funeral will begin at 10 a.m. Rome time, which is 4 a.m. Eastern, and 1 a.m. Pacific time for the United States. It will be held outside of St. Peter’s Basilica in Vatican City, and can be streamed on the Eternal Word Television Network's YouTube channel.

Who is presiding over the mass?

The Holy See on Tuesday announced that the dean of the College of Cardinals Giovanni Battista Re will preside over the ceremony. The mass will primarily be conducted in Latin, but will include parts in Italian, English, Polish and Arabic, according to the Catholic News Agency.

Other priests, archbishops, bishops, cardinals and other Catholic clergy from around the world will also participate in the funeral, but their roles are not as clear.

Who will attend the funeral?

Many global leaders are expected to attend Saturday's mass, including Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, Irish President Michael Higgins and Taoiseach Micheál Martin.

Argentine President Javier Milei, E.U. Commission President Ursula von der Leyen and Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni are also set to attend the funeral, along with Spanish King Felipe VI and Queen Letizia, and Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, among others, according to Time Magazine.

From the United States, President Donald Trump and first lady Melania Trump will attend the funeral, along with former President Joe Biden and former first lady Jill Biden, and a bipartisan group of members of Congress.

How long will the funeral last?

It is not clear exactly how long the mass will take, but the funeral mass for Pope Benedict XVI lasted about one and a half hours and St. John Paul II’s funeral took approximately three hours.

What's next?

After the funeral is completed, the Catholic world will go into a period of nine days of mourning, which will be marked every night by a requiem Mass in St. Peter's Basilica.

He will be buried at the Basilica of St. Mary Major, which is located in Rome. His burial site will be next to an icon of the Virgin Mary that he particularly liked. The tomb is expected to be simple in order to keep the focus of the area on Mary,  according to the Associated Press.

He will be the eighth pope buried at that location but the first since 1669.
