Milwaukee BLM activist, 'militant' says Wisconsin Christmas parade attack may start 'revolution'

A well-known Milwaukee Black Lives Matter activist said on Facebook Live Monday that the attack on the Waukesha Christmas parade may be signalling that "the revolution has started in Wisconsin."

Vaun Mayes, who describes himself as a "Battle rapper, Community activist, Songwriter, Tattoo artist, Militant," in his Twitter bio, said in the video, "I don't know. Now we'll have to wait and see because they do have somebody in custody. We may have to wait and see what they say about why this happened. But it sounds possible that the revolution has started in Wisconsin. It started with this Christmas parade."

"I said I wasn't going to speak on no rumors," he continued. "Y'all are repeating some of the stuff that, you know, that has come up. And I can tell you that the initial person who reached out to me said that they believe that this has to do with the verdict, and so I made an assumption of which side it would be from, but I don't know," Mayes said, referring to the trial of Kyle Rittenhouse, where he was found not guilty on Friday of fatally shooting two men and injuring another during riots in Kenosha last summer. The video Mayes filmed was at the scene of the Christmas parade attack. 

Neither Mayes nor Black Lives Matter responded to Fox News' requests for comment on his video.

A motive hasn't been released by police yet regarding the attack on the Christmas parade Sunday night, in which the suspect who was arrested, Darrell Brooks, Jr., has been charged with five counts of intentional homicide. There has not yet been a connection found between the attack and the Rittenhouse trial, Fox News reported.
