Los Angeles Dodgers meet the New York Yankees in the 2024 World Series

The first game of the 2024 World Series begins on Friday night, marking the first meetup between the New York Yankees and the Los Angeles Dodgers at the World Series since 1981.

The first two games of the series are in Los Angeles, the next three, if no one sweeps the series in four games, are in New York, and the final two games would be back in LA.

This year's World Series is considered a powerhouse match-up featuring two of Major League Baseball's most prominent, and historic, teams. The teams also feature five of the league's former Most Valuable Players in Shohei Ohtani, Mookie Betts, Freddie Freeman, Aaron Judge and Giancarlo Stanton.

Some are billing this World Series as a battle between the top home run hitters in their respective leagues. The Dodgers' Shohei Ohtani led the National League with 54 home runs and Aaron Judge of the Yankees led the American League in home runs with 58.
