Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum said they came to an agreement regarding trade and security and that Mexico will reinforce the northern border with 10,000 members of the National Guard to prevent drug trafficking.

President Trump threatened to begin tariffs against Canada and Mexico, citing the flow of fentanyl and illegal migrants coming across their respective borders with the U.S.  Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum announced Monday that tariffs will be paused for one month after a call with President Donald Trump.

She said they came to an agreement regarding trade and security and that Mexico will  reinforce the northern border with 10,000 members of the National Guard to prevent drug trafficking.
