Ryan Corbett's family told Fox News that he was on his way home.
The U.S. and the Taliban in Afghanistan conducted a prison swap that resulted in two Americans being released in exchange for a Taliban prisoner being held in California, according news reports Tuesday.
One of the U.S prisoners released was Ryan Corbett who was detained over two years ago while on a business trip.
Corbett's family told Fox News that he was on his way home.
"Today, our hearts are filled with overwhelming gratitude and praise to God for sustaining Ryan’s life and bringing him back home after what has been the most challenging and uncertain 894 days of our lives," the family said in a statement.
As of now, there isn't information on the other American prisoner.
