Trump had promised on the campaign trail that he would make the documents public.
President Donald Trump on Thursday ordered the declassification of documents involving the assassinations of former President John F. Kennedy, former Attorney General Robert Kennedy and civil rights activist Martin Luther King Jr.
There have been multiple theories and speculation on the deaths of all three of these men.
Trump had promised on the campaign trail that he would make the documents public.
All three men were fatally shot in the 1960s.
"That's a big one, huh? A lot of people are waiting for this for a long — for years, for decades," Trump said after he signed the executive order, according to CBS News.
