Former GOP Maryland Gov. Hogan leads Democratic Senate rivals by double digits: poll
Maryland has not had a Republican senator in 37 years.
Senate Republican candidate and former Maryland Gov. Larry Hogan is leading his Democratic rivals in a Senate poll by double digits, according to a Wednesday poll.
A Washington Post-University of Maryland (UMD) poll shows Hogan ahead of Rep. David Trone (D-Md.) 49% to 37%.
The survey also shows him leading Democratic Prince George County Executive Angela Alsobrooks 50% to 36%.
Maryland has not had a Republican senator in 37 years.
Hogan announced his bid for Senate last month where he said his goal was “not to serve one party, but to try to be part of the solution: to fix our nation’s broken politics and fight for Maryland.”
The poll was conducted between March 5-12, surveyed 1,004 Maryland voters, and had a margin of error of +/- 3.3%.
