62% of Americans concerned about violent crime committed by illegal immigrants: poll
The poll was conducted after President Joe Biden mispronounced Augusta University nursing student Laken Riley's name during his State of the Union address.
A recent poll conducted by Rasmussen Reports showed that 62% of Americans are concerned about violent crimes committed by illegal immigrants.
The survey also found that 62% of those polled said that the best way to describe an individual who comes across the border unauthorized is "illegal immigrant" or "illegal alien," according to the Washington Examiner.
The poll was conducted after President Joe Biden mispronounced Augusta University nursing student Laken Riley's name during his State of the Union, calling her "Lincoln Riley."
Biden originally said that an "illegal" was responsible for Riley's death, but apologized after he received backlash for using that term.
“I shouldn’t have used ‘illegal.’ It’s ‘undocumented,'" he said in a later interview.
Riley was murdered by an illegal immigrant from Venezuela last month and it caused conservative lawmakers to call for stricter immigration policies.
The survey was conducted between March 13-14 and surveyed 1,149 likely voters and had a sampling margin of +/-3%.
