Trump weighs in on handful of endorsement losses: 'Fake News Media' downplays successes

Former President Donald Trump weighed in Monday on the handful of candidates who lost with his endorsement, declaring some races were “impossible to win” but his overall record was strong.

"WE (all of us) had an incredible cycle of Endorsement Victories, a cycle like never before," Trump wrote on his social media platform Truth Social.

He touted his endorsement of Dr. Mehmet Oz, who released a video last week claiming to have "earned the presumptive Republican nomination for the United States Senate" in Pennsylvania. He is in the middle of a recount after leading a tight GOP primary race against businessman Dave McCormick.

"Giving Oz the win, and he only started winning after I gave him a very late early voting enforcement," Trump wrote. 

The former president said his endorsement record was "101 and 6," but stressed that some of the six losses "were impossible to win."

Trump defended the candidates who lost despite his support by saying, "I was loyal, perhaps to a fault."

Trump has made 187 total 2022 endorsements, but some elections are still scheduled to occur. Ballotpedia shows that Trump endorsed seven candidates who lost in their primaries, putting his win record at 93%.

"Despite all of this success, the Fake News Media likes to play it down as much as possible, not an easy thing to do, but something that they are very good at," Trump wrote, optimistically concluding, "Anyway, we are getting great people into office!"
