The United States is reportedly on standby and ready in case Iran retaliates against Israel.

“If Iran reacts – the United States will be ready and there will be consequences,” a US source told KANN News.

On Friday, Israel launched strikes in retaliation against Iran as a response to an earlier attack when Iran launched 180 missiles towards Israel on Oct. 1, that were mostly intercepted with the help of the United States.

The Israel Defense Forces said that the attack had consisted of dozens of aircraft, including refuelers and spy planes, conducting “waves” of attacks over a few hours and across several regions of Iran, according to the Jewish News Syndicate. "The targets included missile and drone manufacturing facilities and launch sites, as well as air-defense batteries."

Israeli Defense Forces spokesperson Adm. Daniel Hagari confirmed the conclusion of the attack late Friday evening.

“I can now confirm that we have concluded the Israeli response to Iran’s attacks against Israel. We conducted targeted and precise strikes on military targets in Iran — thwarting immediate threats to the State of Israel.”

The source told KANN that they didn't want an escalation and that it would just be a direct exchange between Iran and Israel, according to the New York Post.

While Israel did notify the U.S. before it conducted strikes against Iran, the U.S. didn't have any involvement in the operation.

“The United States was not a participant in this operation," a senior official confirmed to the Post. "It is our aim to accelerate diplomacy and de-escalate tensions in the Middle East region. We urge Iran to cease its attacks on Israel so that this cycle of fighting can end without further escalation.”
