The International Criminal Court announced Thursday that it has issued arrest warrants for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, his former defense minister Yoav Gallant and Hamas officials such as Mohammed Deif.

The ICC alleged that Netanyahu and Gallant committed war crimes with the ongoing war in Gaza.

Hamas launched an attack against Israel in October 2023, which the ICC says was also a war crime against humanity. The attack resulted the Israel declaring a war on Hamas in Gaza.

The United States is not a member of the court, and two of the Hamas officials covered by the arrest warrants have been killed during the war.
