President Donald Trump and Fox News Channel host Sean Hannity say they're helping Elon Musk amid a boycott of his Tesla electric vehicle by buying one.

Trump said Tuesday in a Truth Social post that he's buying one from Musk, who leads his administration's Department of Government Efficiency, in support of his efforts.

"To Republicans, conservatives, and all great Americans, Elon Musk is 'putting it on the line' in order to help our nation, and he is doing a fantastic job!" Trump posted. "I’m going to buy a brand new Tesla tomorrow morning as a show of confidence and support for Elon Musk, a truly great American. Why should he be punished for putting his tremendous skills to work in order to help make America great again???"

He also said in the post that "radical left lunatics" are trying to "illegally and collusively boycott Tesla, one of the World’s great automakers, and Elon’s 'baby,' in order to attack and do harm to Elon, and everything he stands for."

Hannity said on his show Monday night that he recently bought a new Tesla to support Musk.

"I went and already picked up the one I want," he said, adding that he chose a Tesla Model S Plaid. "Maybe it's just a gesture on my part, and I like new technology, but it's just a way of saying, 'Look at what they're doing to this guy.'"

Hannity also conducted a poll on X, asking his followers which Tesla he should give away on his radio show, offering Model S/Cybertruck, 3, X and Y as options.

Model S/Cybertruck won in the poll with 66.8% voting for that model.

Musk thanked Trump and Hannity on his X account for supporting him and his company.

Tesla lost $125 billion in value during the stock market decline Monday, over fears of Trump's tariff and a resulting recession.
