Walz says Harris picked him as her VP to 'code talk to white guys'
Former vice presidential nominee and current Democratic Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz was also reportedly chosen as Harris's running mate because the Democrats wanted to win over the male voters.
Minnesota Democratic Gov. Tim Walz says the party's 2024 presidential nominee, then-Vice President Kamala Harris, picked him as her running-mate to "code talk to white guys."
Walz made the comment Monday at a Harvard Kennedy School forum.
"I could code talk to white guys watching football, fixing their truck," and "put them at ease," Walz said, according to Fox News.
He also said he was the "permission structure" for white men from rural America to vote for Democrats.
It was previously reported that Walz was chosen as Harris's running mate because the Democrats wanted to win over the male voters.
