Tennessee GOP Rep. Tim Burchett says President Donald Trump is "playing chess" with the recent minerals deal with Ukraine.

"I mean, he's playing chess, and the rest of these knuckleheads in Washington are playing checkers," Burchett said on the Wednesday edition of the "Just the News, No Noise" TV show. "They're on the floor right now just disputing everything that Trump has done."

On Tuesday, Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent announced that the U.S. and Ukraine had signed a minerals deal.

This deal allows the U.S. access to mineral riches in Ukraine in exchange for funding the country during its ongoing war with Russia.

Bessent said the Democrats have no other plan than to criticize Trump in the wake of the update about the deal.

"They have no plan other than to attack Trump and nothing's working," he said.
