Speaker Johnson: Biden's legacy will be 'defined' by his 'failures'

Johnson claimed that Biden's legacy was a series of "failures" such as high inflation, the prosecution of a political opponent, and betraying the trust of voters by pardoning his son despite multiple promises not to do so.

House Speaker Mike Johnson on Wednesday night prepared for President Joe Biden's final speech to the country by asserting that the president's legacy would be defined by his perceived "failures."

Biden delivered his farewell address from the Oval Office of the White House, where he attempted to warn Americans about the "dangerous concentration of power in the hands of a very few ultra wealthy people."

The comment appears to have been a snipe at President-elect Donald Trump, and his allies in billionaires Elon Musk, Vivek Ramaswamy, and even Mark Zuckerberg and Jeff Bezos.

Johnson claimed that Biden's legacy was a series of "failures" such as high inflation, the prosecution of a political opponent, and betraying the trust of voters by pardoning his son despite multiple promises not to do so.

"President Biden’s legacy will be defined by his many failures," Johnson wrote on X before listing them. "Engineering the WORST border crisis in U.S. history, bringing terrorists and violent illegals into our communities.  WEAPONIZING DOJ to target political opponents. FUELING skyrocketing inflation through 'Bidenomics.'

"HIDING from the American people his mental decline," he continued. "Orchestrating the DISASTROUS withdrawal from Afghanistan. EMBOLDENING enemies through a policy of appeasement. PARDONING his son despite saying he never would, and giving murderers and rapists clemency."

The comment comes in Biden's final days in office. Trump will be sworn into office on Monday, January 20.
