House passes Mace's bill with bipartisan support to deport illegal migrants who commit sex crimes
Fifteen members of the House did not vote for it and 145 Democrats voted against it.
The House on Thursday passed legislation that would allow illegal migrants who committed domestic violence or found guilty of sex crimes to be deported.
The "Preventing Violence Against Women by Illegal Aliens Act" passed with 213 Republicans and 61 Democrats supporting it.
Fifteen members of the House were not present for the vote, and 145 Democrats voted against it.
"Our bill just PASSED this morning," the bill's sponsor Nancy Mace, R-S.C., wrote on the social media platform, X. "Not tired of winning yet."
Tesla CEO and X owner Elon Musk slammed the Democrats who voted against the legislation.
"Unconscionable that 145 elected representatives voted AGAINST deporting illegal migrant rapists!" Musk wrote on social media.
