Vice President JD Vance said Thursday that drug cartels and human traffickers need to "get the hell out" of the U.S.

Vance made the comment at the annual Conservative Political Action Conference, at the National Harbor, in Maryland, just outside of Washington, D.C.

"Our message to the drug traffickers is get the hell out of our country," Vance said. "Your free ride is over because President Trump is back in the Oval Office. You're not welcome."

On drug cartels specifically, Vance said: "Donald Trump has said you are terrorist organizations. We're going to go after you, wage war on you. And certainly we want you out of the United States of America."

Last month, Trump signed an executive order that designated drug cartels as terrorist organizations.

"The Cartels’ activities threaten the safety of the American people, the security of the United States, and the stability of the international order in the Western Hemisphere," the order states.
