Whistleblower charged by DOJ after exposing gender-affirming care at hospital: 'Time to fight back'
Dr. Eithan Haim, a surgeon, was indicted on four felony charges over alleged HIPAA violations
The U.S. Department of Justice has filed criminal charges against a whistleblower over alleged Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) violations after he exposed that Texas Children's Hospital was apparently conducting gender-affirming care on minors in violation of state law.
Dr. Eithan Haim, a surgeon, was indicted on four felony charges over alleged HIPAA violations.
Haim, who completed his residency at the Texas Children's Hospital, previously sounded the alarm on the hospital continuing to provide gender affirming care on minors after it claimed the program was no longer operating.
"They wanted to intimidate me into silence using every technique the federal leviathan had at their disposal. But they failed," Haim wrote Thursday on X, formerly Twitter, after the indictment was revealed. "The only way to lose is to submit to corruption. It's time to fight back harder than ever!"
Haim is scheduled to appear in court on June 10.
"Had three heavily armed agents at my door 7AM Tuesday to inform me I was indicted with four felonies...for blowing the whistle about the largest children's hospital in the world lying to the public about their transgender program," Haim also wrote on X.
