California Democrat Gov. Gavin Newsom is hosting ex-Trump White House chief strategist Steve Bannon on Wednesday on his new podcast, marking the second time this month that he has had a MAGA-type guest.

"I'm launching a new podcast," he recently said on social media, amid speculation the effort is part of a strategy toward running for president in 2028. "We need to change the conversation. I'm talking directly with people I disagree with, people I look up to, and you -- the listeners. Egg prices? Tariffs? DOGE? We're tackling all your big questions."

"Gavin is joined by host of the WarRoom podcast, former Trump White House chief strategist and MAGA architect Steve Bannon," the Spotify description reads.

Last week, Newsom had MAGA influencer and Turning Point USA President Charlie Kirk on his show. 

The governor, in arguable the most liberal state in the country, during the Kirk interview made a surprising policy pivot, saying he doesn't agree with transgender athletes in women of female's sports, as a matter of fairness.
