Netanyahu: Israel seeks to 'degrade Hamas's terrorist abilities'

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu appeared on Face the Nation as the Jewish State is engaged in regional conflict against the terrorist group Hamas.

"We're trying to degrade Hamas's terrorist abilities and to degrade their will to do this again," the Israeli leader said when asked how much longer hostilities will persist. "So it'll take some time. I hope it won't take long, but it's not immediate." Any country "has to defend itself and has a natural right of self defense," he said.

"We are targeting a terrorist organization that is targeting our civilians and hiding behind their civilians, using them as human shields. We're doing everything we can to hit the terrorists themselves, their rockets, their rocket caches and their arms," he said.
