At least 13 people were injured on Thursday at a bus stop in Israel, after a man allegedly rammed his vehicle into the bus stop at Karkur Junction, according to local police.

Police said that the suspect is a Palestinian man who is living in Israel without a permit with his Israeli wife. The man allegedly plowed his car over several civilians at the stop, and attempted to flee before he was blocked off by police. The suspect has since been "neutralized," according to ABC News.

Authorities said the most serious injury was to a 17-year-old civilian girl, who was critically injured. Two others have been seriously injured, six have been mildly injured, and one was moderately injured. The conditions of the others were not immediately clear, but a police officer is among those injured.

"The determined action of the police brought the incident to an end, thus preventing further harm to innocent people, while saving lives," a police spokesperson said in a statement.

Two of the critically and seriously injured have been sedated and are on ventilators at a local hospital. The other seriously injured person, a 19-year-old woman, experienced head wounds but is conscious.
