Raging wildfires ravage British Columbia

Wildfires continue to ravage British Columbia in western Canada, while Quebec initiates firefighting operations to contain blazes that have spread smoke across cities in North America. With 2,392 fires and 4.4 million hectares burned, Canada faces its most severe start to the wildfire season in years, surpassing the average of the past decade by about 15 times, as reported by the Canadian Interagency Forest Fire Centre (CIFFC).
