Former One Direction member Liam Payne dies at age 31

Liam Payne, a former member of the band One Direction died at age 31. 

The cause of his death was falling from the third floor of a hotel in Buenos Aires, according to local police. 

His death happened at a hotel on Costa Rica Street, authorities said in a statement to CNN. 

He is survived by his son named Bear, who was born in 2017 to Payne and singer Cheryl Cole.

TMZ reports witnesses claimed that Payne had been acting erratic in the hotel lobby before his death and did some troubling things, including smashing his laptop. 

Police have begun an investigation into Payne's death. As of now it is not known if the fall was accidental or intentional.
