An American Airlines plane caught fire on Thursday at the Denver International Airport, according to a local media report.

No passengers were injured in the incident, and the cause of the fire was not immediately clear. All passengers were safely evacuated and the plane's slides were deployed, the airport told Fox 31 Denver.

The fire, which erupted while the plane was at gate C38, has since been extinguished.

The news comes less than two months after another American Airlines flight collided with a military helicopter near Washington, D.C., which killed all 67 people on board both vehicles.
