Trump signed an executive order Monday withdrawing from the Paris Climate Agreement.

The nonbinding multinational agreement commits signing nations to limit greenhouse gas emissions to 1.5 degrees celsius of warming above pre-industrial levels.

By withdrawing from the agreement, the U.S. will join a few other countries, according to The Hill, which have not signed onto the agreement, including Iran, Libya and Yemen.

Trump also issued an order called "Unleashing American Energy," which aims to lower energy costs.

" In recent years, burdensome and ideologically motivated regulations have impeded the development of these resources, limited the generation of reliable and affordable electricity, reduced job creation, and inflicted high energy costs upon our citizens," the order stated.

The order eliminates the EV mandate, energy efficiency standards on appliances, and a number of orders former President Joe Biden had signed as part of his climate agenda.
