Texas conservatives defeat resolution honoring former Planned Parenthood president

Texas conservatives defeated a memorial resolution that would have honored former Planned Parenthood president Cecile Richards.
Texas legislator Brian Harrison delivered a floor speech speaking out against the resolution before it was pulled from the floor.
"Grateful for every one of my conservative colleagues who had the courage to stand up and defeat today’s resolution honoring Planned Parenthood’s President," Harrison wrote Thursday evening on X. "What a damning indictment of Speaker Burrows that a successful day in the Texas House is NOT honoring Planned Parenthood."
Texas state Rep. Nate Schatzline was also among the group of conservatives who opposed the resolution.
"Texas will never honor those who mass murder our unborn children!" he wrote on X. "We will speak for the 63.6 million babies that have been murdered by the Abortion Industrial Complex! Texas is a PRO-LIFE STATE!"
