Conservative group Restoration of America endorses Harmeet Dhillon for RNC chairperson
The Republican National Committee is scheduled to elect a chairperson at its annual winter meeting later this month.
Conservative group Restoration of America on Wednesday endorsed former Trump campaign attorney Harmeet Dhillon for Republican National Committee chairperson.
"I have worked with Harmeet on critical projects, and I know she is up to the task," group founder and President Doug Truax said in making the announcement.
Dhillon is challenging incumbent RNC Chairwoman Ronna McDaniel, with the vote scheduled for Jan. 27 at the group's annual winter meeting, this year in Orange County, California.
"We share her agenda of decentralizing power away from Washington D.C., playing offense with election integrity litigation, using the best technology available, being prudent and accountable with donors’ money, and aggressively tracking and chasing ballots so we can elect those who will put in place true election integrity measures," Truax also said.
The faith-based group says in part in its overall mission, "We know that in our current era our nation’s most significant threats are twofold: internally – the elite, Marxist neo-liberals and, externally – Communist China.
"We defend our nation by supporting like-minded leaders and by creating organizations and activities that promote fully transparent elections, economic freedom, limited government, military superiority, secure borders, rule of law, and the sanctity of life."
Dhillon has received other significant endorsements from influential conservatives including billionaire Dick Uihlein, Home Depot co-founder Bernie Marcus and longtime RNC member Morton Blackwell.
Republicans have expressed frustration with McDaniel's RNC tenure after losing the House in 2018 and the presidency in 2020 followed by an underwhelming 2022 midterm performance.
