Report: Russian propaganda network likely spreading false Tim Walz sex abuse claims

Experts cited in a Wired report said the network, Storm-1516, also falsely claimed Vice President Kamala Harris "perpetrated a hit-and-run in San Francisco in 2011"

A Russian propaganda network is likely spreading false sex abuse claims about Gov. Tim Walz, D-Minn., the Democratic vice presidential nominee, according to a new report.

Experts cited in a Wired report said the network, Storm-1516, often posts deepfake videos to advance Russian messaging in the U.S.

The Wired report said one of those fake video was of a person claiming to have been a former student of Walz who was abused while he was their football coach.  

The has group also falsely claimed Vice President Kamala Harris was involved in a hit-and-run accident in San Francisco in 2011 leaving someone paralyzed, an NBC News investigative report said.
