Lyle and Erik Menendez, who were sentenced to life in prison close to 30 years ago for murdering their parents, are scheduled to appear in court Monday.

The brothers, who are in jail in California, are expected to appear virtually for a status hearing at 10:30 a.m. pacific time before Judge Michael Jesic, according to CNN.

The judge could require them to appear in-person.

Los Angeles County District Attorney George Gascón had recommended that they be resentenced. Since then, he lost re-election.

The judge is expected to determine on Monday if the Dec. 11 resentencing hearing should move forward.
