Texas' largest newspaper, the Dallas Morning News, has endorsed Democratic Rep. Colin Allred over incumbent GOP Sen. Ted Cruz in their Senate race

The newspaper made the endorsement of Allred, a three-term congressman from Dallas, in a front-page editorial in the paper's Sunday edition.

"We looked not only at their actions but also listened to their words, and, after doing so, we recommend voters cast their ballots for Allred in the coming election," the newspaper's editorial board said.

Cruz is seeking a third term in the Senate.
