Kari Lake's team announces 'more evidence to come' after Arizona Gov. Hobbs requests case dismissal
"What happened here in Arizona was truly an assault on our Country," Kari Lake wrote via twitter.
Arizona GOP gubernatorial candidate Kari Lake's team announced Monday that there's more evidence to come regarding her election lawsuit soon after Democrat Gov. Katie Hobbs requested the case be thrown out.
"Yesterday @katiehobbs filed to get our lawsuit thrown out," the Kari Lake War Room tweeted. "Today, records revealed nearly a quarter of a million ballots were rejected on Election Day in Maricopa County in a race that came down to just 17K votes. She's illegitimate & she knows it. More evidence to come."
In a recent court filing within the Arizona Appeals Court, Gov. Hobbs requested her GOP opponent's lawsuit be tossed because Lake was unable to prove that millions of Arizonans were disenfranchised during the Nov. 8 election.
"Despite seven witnesses, hundreds of declarants, and thousands of pages of exhibits, Lake failed to demonstrate any violations of Arizona law and offered no evidence that absent alleged violations the outcome of the election would have been different," the filing reads.
Lake's lawsuit challenging her defeat to Hobbs was dismissed by a Maricopa County judge last month. Lake filed an appeal asking the Arizona Superior Court to reconsider all 10 counts that she brought up in her original lawsuit. Two of the counts involved Election Day ballot printing issues and procedural errors.
"Lake did not establish that the Maricopa County defendants engaged in any misconduct regarding chain of custody documentation, let alone misconduct that would alter the results of the 2022 gubernatorial election," the filing continued.
The former gubernatorial candidate put out on her twitter that recent Senate testimony proved that more tabulators rejected votes, but did not elaborate further.
"CONFIRMED: On Election Day, tabulators rejected nearly 1/4 MILLION Vote Attempts," Lake wrote. "What happened here in Arizona was truly an assault on our Country. We must rectify this."
"Officials sabotaged Election Day," she wrote in another tweet. "On November 8th (when 75% of votes were for @KariLake) nearly 1/4 of a MILLION voting attempts FAILED, according to the system log files that were obtained via FOIA. This is huge, folks. Huge."
