You Vote: Should President Trump pardon former adviser Mike Flynn?
Vote in this Just the News poll and give your opinion on a pardon.
President Trump recently revealed he is giving serious consideration to pardoning his former national security adviser Michael Flynn, a move that would mark his first act of clemency for someone affected by the Russia investigation.
The president's comments come as new documents unearthed by Just the News identify serious issues in the Justice Department's prosecution of Flynn.
Those documents show the FBI had concluded by Jan. 31, 2017 that Flynn was not acting as an agent of Russia and did not appear to be intentionally misleading during his FBI interview. Nonetheless, those allegations lingered in public for more than a year before Flynn pleaded guilty to a charge of lying to the FBI.
The memos also show the Obama holdover officials inside DOJ were alarmed by the FBI's treatment of Flynn, including failing to tell him of his rights, alert the White House to the interview and the threat of prosecuting him under the obscure Logan Act.
