"Will is a highly skilled attorney who will be a crucial part of my White House team," Trump said in an emailed statement.
President-elect Donald Trump on Saturday announced that William Owen Scharf would be serving as Assistant to the President and White House Staff Secretary in his next term.
"Will is a highly skilled attorney who will be a crucial part of my White House team," Trump said in an emailed statement. "He has played a key role in defeating the Election Interference and Lawfare waged against me, including by winning the Historic Immunity Decision in the Supreme Court."
Trump has been announcing positions for his upcoming cabinet over the past week.
Recently he announced Karoline Leavitt to serve as the White House press secretary, former Flordia GOP Rep. Matt Gaetz to be Attorney General and Robert F. Kennedy Jr. to lead the Health and Human Services Department.
"Will has served as a federal prosecutor, worked diligently to confirm Judges and Justices during my first term, clerked for two Federal Appeals Court Judges, and was an award winning graduate at Harvard Law School and Magna Cum Laude at Princeton," Trump's statement continued. "Will is going to make us proud as we Make America Great Again."
