Trump gives Chinese company 75 more days to sell TikTok before ban enacted
The order allows China-based ByteDance more time to sell its part of the platform or negotiate a resolution with Trump.
President Donald Trump Monday signed an executive order giving China-based ByteDance 75 more days to sell its stake in TikTok.
The order explains that the timing of the Foreign Adversary Controlled Applications Act, which initiated the ban on the popular platform, interferes with Trump’s ability to negotiate a resolution and avoid “an abrupt shutdown” of the app.
