According to a recently released OIG report, the Secret Service incurred $850,000 in expenses while on a trip with President Trump and his family to the Trump Turnberry resort in Scotland in 2018.

The audit of by the Office of the Inspector General for the Department of Homeland Security was at the request of Democratic Sens. Tom Carper (Delaware), Elizabeth Warren (Massachusetts), and Democratic Rep. Elijah Cummings, chairman of the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform. The Maryland lawmaker passed away in October of last year.

More than half of the amount was spent on rental cars, and another $320,000 was spent on hotel rooms. The audit approximates that $9,662 was spent at the Trump Turnberry Resort, on logistical costs, hotel rooms, and golf cart rentals.

The report states that its reason for being completed was that the aforementioned members of Congress had requested it, and contains no recommendations as a result of OIG’s findings.
