White House trade adviser blames China for seeding virus across the globe, instead of containing it
Peter Navarro, backed by a DHS intelligence report, accuses China of hiding the severity of the outbreak from the global community at the outset
White House trade adviser Peter Navarro says China “send hundreds of thousands” of people on planes across the world to “seed” the novel coronavirus, turning the problem into a global pandemic, when they might’ve kept the issue contained in Wuhan.
Navarro on Sunday told ABC News host George Stephanapoulos that the “Chinese, behind the shield of the World Health Organization, for two months hid the virus from the world and then sent hundreds of thousands of Chinese on aircraft to Milan, New York and around the world to seed that. They could have kept it in Wuhan, but instead, it became a pandemic.”
According to a Department of Homeland Security intelligence report, Chinese leader "intentionally concealed the severity" of the coronavirus from the global community during January, in addition to increasing imports and decreasing exports of medical supplies.
