Twitter disables Trump campaign video tribute to George Floyd

Twitter has disabled a Trump campaign video tribute to George Floyd over an apparent copyright claim – the latest incident in which the social media platform has flagged Trump-related content.

The company put a label on a video posted by the @TeamTrump account that states: “This image has been disabled in response to a claim by the copyright owner.” 

The video is still posted on YouTube

In May, Twitter put fact-check warnings on two tweets from Trump’s own account that called mail-in ballots “fraudulent” and predicted problems with the November elections, according to the Associated Press. 

Trump responded by signing an executive order to try to curtail what he called social media platform’s “unchecked power” to censor content through a 1996 law that protects websites and tech companies from lawsuits from such actions.

Twitter also put a warning on a Trump tweet about the George Floyd protests in Minneapolis, saying it violated rules by glorifying violence.
