Mike Huckabee says the Democratic Party is in a mess, can't 'comfortably' replace Biden
The White House has insisted that Biden will not be dropping out of the race.
Former GOP Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee says that the Democratic Party is a mess and if they want to replace President Joe Biden as the presidential nominee, it won't happen comfortably.
"The Democrats are in a mess because they really can't replace him comfortably," Huckabee said on the Wednesday edition of the "Just the News, No Noise" TV show.
"Even if he were to step aside and say, 'Okay, I'll quit.' Here's the problem: the only person who can keep that $200 million campaign fund is Kamala Harris. If it's anyone else, they can't inherit it."
Presumptive GOP presidential nominee Donald Trump and Biden faced off in the first presidential debate last week where Biden performed poorly, resulting in some Democratic leaders calling on him to suspend his campaign.
The White House has insisted that Biden will not be dropping out of the race.
Huckabee said that there also isn't an apparent replacement for Biden either.
"It's not like there's only one person who has scrambled to get on that stage and stand in the spotlight," he said. "They've got a bunch of people like Newsom, Gretchen Whitmer ... who knows else might show up?"
