McEnany says Trump opposes BLM organization, but he agrees that black lives matter
President Trump on Wednesday blasted the anticipated painting of "Black Lives Matter" on New York City's Fifth Avenue.
White House Press Secretary Kayleigh McEnany during a Wednesday press conference said that while the president concurs with the idea that every black person's life matters, he opposes the Black Lives Matter organization.
President Trump earlier on Wednesday blasted plans to paint "Black Lives Matter" on New York City's Fifth Avenue in front of Trump Tower: "Maybe our GREAT Police, who have been neutralized and scorned by a mayor who hates & disrespects them, won’t let this symbol of hate be affixed to New York’s greatest street," the president said in a tweet.
"All black lives do matter, he agrees with that sentiment," McEnany said about the president. "But what he doesn't agree with is an organization that chants 'Pigs in a blanket, fry 'em like bacon,' about our police officers, our valiant heroes who are out on the street protecting us each and every day," she said.
McEnany opened her press conference by championing the end of the Capitol Hill Autonomous Zone in Seattle, Washington and emphasizing President Trump's commitment to "law and order."
"So I am pleased to inform everyone that Seattle has been liberated," McEnany said. "The Capitol Hill Autonomous Zone ... was a failed four-week Democrat experiment by the radical left and the results are in: Anarchy is anti-American, law and order is essential, peace in our streets will be secured," she said.
