Nominees announced for the 2025 Academy Awards, with 'Anora' front-runner in several key categories

Nominees for the 2025 Academy Awards have been announced.

The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences on Thursday announced its 2025 Oscar Award nominations, with Anora emerging as the front-runner in several key categories.

Other top picture nominees are: The Brutalist, A Complete Unknown, Conclave, Dune: Part Two, Emilia Pérez, I'm Still Here, Nickel Boys, The Substance, and Wicked

Nominees for Actor in a leading role Adrien Brody for The Brutalist, Timothée Chalamet for A Complete Unknown, Colman Domingo for Sing Sing, Ralph Fiennes for Conclave, and Sebastian Stan for The Apprentice.  Actor in a Supporting Role nominees are Yura Borisov for Anora, Kieran Culkin for A Real Pain, Edward Norton for A Complete Unknown, Guy Pearce for The Brutalist, and Jeremy Strong for The Apprentice.  

Actress in a Leading Role nominees are  Cynthia Erivo for Wicked, Karla Sofía Gascón for Emilia Pérez, Mikey Madison for Anora, Demi Moore for The Substance, and Fernanda Torres for I'm Still Here.   Nominees for Actress in a Supporting Role are Monica Barbaro for A Complete Unknown, Ariana Grande for Wicked, Felicity Jones for The Brutalist, Isabella Rossellini for Conclave, and Zoe Saldaña for Emilia Pérez

Animated Feature Film nominees include Flow,  Inside Out 2,  Memoir of a Snail, Wallace & Gromit: Vengeance Most Fow, and The Wild Robot.  Animated Short Film nominees are  Beautiful Men, In the Shadow of the Cypress, Wander to Wonder, Yuck! and Magic Candies.  

Directors nominated for awards include Sean Baker, Brady Corbet, James Mangold, Jacques Audiard, and Coralie Fargeat. Nominees for cinematography include The Brutalist, Dune: Part Two, Emilia Pérez, Maria, and Nosferatu.  Costume Design nominees are listed as A Complete Unknown, Conclave, Gladiator II, Nosferatu, and Wicked.
