President Trump revealed that he would “absolutely” sign legislation to ban members of Congress from individual stock trading.

“I watched Nancy Pelosi get rich through insider information, and I would be okay with it. If they send that to me, I would do it,” Trump said in a Time magazine interview on Friday.

One of the authors of a bipartisan bill to ban stock purchases among members of Congress and their spouses applauded Trump's statement.

"This is very welcome news. I authored and introduced this legislation—H.R. 253–with Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez on the very first day of this Congress to address this blatant and systemic corruption by career politicians," said Rep. Brian Fitzpatrick, R-Pa. "I encourage all of our colleagues to join us in our mission to get this done."
