Mike Huckabee says Biden won't get impeached due to weak Republicans and Democratic Senate majority

Former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee said that President Joe Biden likely would not be impeached due to weak Republicans and the Democrats having a majority in the Senate. 

"We have to remember this is not a jury of impartial people," Huckabee said on the "Just the News, No Noise" TV show. "This is the U.S. Senate, where Democrats have a majority and you have some very weak-kneed Republicans who would fold like a paper cup in a windstorm. If they had to vote, they wouldn't vote to do it anyway. Even if they had overwhelming evidence."

House Republicans are leading an impeachment inquiry into President Joe Biden regarding allegations of influence peddling within his family. Two of first son Hunter Biden's former associates testified before lawmakers in a hearing that took place Wednesday.

Huckabee said that while this is a major story, it is very unlikely a conviction will come from it.

"Thank goodness that Republican leaders have pursued it," he said. "But let's be honest: they haven't had any cooperation from the Justice Department. They're not going to get any. They haven't had any cooperation from the Democrats and the mainstream media have completely ignored them."

"I think that there's some serious evidence," Huckabee later said. "Now, is it enough to convict in a court of law or even an impeachment hearing or impeachment trial? Not if the jury has already determined what their vote is going to be."
