Sheng Thao, the former mayor of Oakland, and three others have been indicted on federal bribery charges 

The investigation that led to the charges was conducted by the FBI, the U.S. Postal Inspection Service, and the Internal Revenue Service.

Andre Jones, Thao’s longtime boyfriend, and David and Andy Duong, who own Cal Waste Solutions, a recycling company in Oakland.

Thao allegedly extended contracts for Cal Waste Solutions and appointed officials who allegedly benefited the Duongs’ business interests, according to the indictment.
