The Pentagon's Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA) is pausing its annual Martin Luther King Jr. Day, Juneteenth, Holocaust Days of Remembrance, and Pride Month celebrations and events, based on President Donald Trump's ban on Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) initiatives in the federal government.

Trump targeted DEI initiatives and programs in a series of executive actions during his first week in office, including ending all federal DEI programs, and directing federal contractors to cease "promoting 'diversity,'" and taking "affirmative action."

The Pentagon's intelligence agency released an internal memo this week that highlighted 11 events that will be halted over the ban, but it said Juneteenth and Martin Luther King Jr. day will remain federal holidays.

"The Defense Intelligence Agency is working with the Department of Defense to fully implement all Executive Orders and Administration guidance in a timely manner," Lt. Cmdr. Seth Clarke, DIA spokesman, told ABC News. "As we receive additional guidance, we will continue to update our internal guidance."

Other events that will be impacted are those related to Black History Month, Women's History Month, Asian American Pacific Islander Heritage Month, Women's Equality Day, National Hispanic Heritage Month, National Disability Employment Awareness Month, and National American Indian Heritage Month.

The DIA is also immediately pausing all of its "Agency Resource Groups, Affinity Groups, and Employee Networking Groups," until further notice.

The pause comes just days before Black History Month is set to begin on Feb. 1.
