Zelensky says next Ukraine peace talks with France, UK and US will take place in London on Wednesday
Delegations from all four countries are expected to be at the meeting, which comes after the countries spoke in Paris last week. The four countries are working to arrange a permanent ceasefire between Russia and Ukraine.
Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelensky on Monday announced that the next round of peace talks with the United States, France, and the United Kingdom will take place in London on Wednesday.
Delegations from all four countries are expected to be at the meeting, which comes after the countries spoke in Paris last week. The four countries are working to arrange a permanent ceasefire between Russia and Ukraine.
President Donald Trump on Sunday pushed for the two countries to reach a peace deal in the upcoming week, which comes after the U.S. warned last week that it could walk away from trying to end the war between the countries in the "coming days," if no progress is made soon.
Zelensky, in a social media post on Monday, appeared committed to reaching a peace deal, but was also cautious over whether Russia could say the same after it allegedly violated an Easter ceasefire over the weekend.
"Already this Wednesday, our representatives will be working in London," Zelensky posted to X. "Ukraine, the United Kingdom, France, and the United States — we are ready to move forward as constructively as possible, just as we have done before, to achieve an unconditional ceasefire, followed by the establishment of a real and lasting peace.
"I thank all our partners who are helping," he continued. "An unconditional ceasefire must be the first step toward peace, and this Easter made it clear that it is Russia’s actions that are prolonging the war."
