Trump legal team pounces on grand jury forewoman's media tour: 'clown-like'

Former President Donald Trump's legal team has indicated it may file motions with the court in response to a recent string of media appearances that grand jury forewoman Emily Kohrs made in recent weeks discussing Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis's probe into Trump's efforts to challenge the election results in Georgia.

Following the partial release of a grand jury report on the months-long investigation, Kohrs gave several interviews to legacy media outlets such as CNN and the New York Times in which she appeared erratic and enthusiastic at the prospect of legal action against the former president.

Her remarks earned criticism from Trump himself and his allies as Kohrs' statements seemed to lend weight to the notion that the investigation may be politically motivated.

Defense attorneys for the former president, Drew Findling and Jennifer Little, told the Atlanta Journal-Constitution this week that they were likely to take action in response to Kohrs' media tour.

"This type of carnival, clown-like atmosphere that was portrayed over the course of the last 36 hours takes away from the complete sanctity and the integrity and, for that matter, the reliability," Findling told the outlet.

"You want folks to have faith and trust in not only the system, but in the results of your investigation. How can anyone looking at what we've now seen have faith and trust in the results of this investigation?" Little asked.

Apart from her erratic demeanor on camera, Kohrs has relayed accounts of the process that have raised questions about the influence of the DA's office on the jurors.

While no indictments have yet been announced, Kohrs has stated that the grand jury recommended numerous individuals face charges.

Trump, meanwhile, has capitalized on Kohrs' recent media appearances, using them as ammunition for his claims that the investigation is a mere partisan farce.

"This Georgia case is ridiculous, a strictly political continuation of the greatest Witch Hunt of all time. Now you have an extremely energetic young woman, the (get this!) "foreperson" of the Racist D.A.'s Special Grand Jury, going around and doing a Media Tour revealing, incredibly, the Grand Jury's inner workings & thoughts," Trump wrote on Truth Social.

"This is not JUSTICE, this is an illegal Kangaroo Court. Atlanta is leading the Nation in Murder and other Violent Crimes. All I did is make TWO PERFECT PHONE CALLS!!!" he continued.
