Hunter Biden's sentencing on federal gun crimes conviction delayed until December, Judge orders
Hunter Biden's lawyers previously requested a delay citing overlapping schedules with his other federal case in California.
Hunter Biden's sentencing for his conviction on three federal gun charges is now set for Dec. 4 after the judge approved a delay Thursday.
The first son's lawyers previously requested a delay in sentencing citing challenges related to overlapping schedules with his other federal case for tax charges now taking place in California.
The sentencing, originally set for Nov. 13, is now scheduled to take place just under one month later, according to the court order from Judge Maryellen Noreika.
In June, a jury found the first son guilty on three federal charges in connection with the purchase of a gun in 2018.
Biden was on trial for having stated on the gun purchase application that he did not use drugs, while allegedly having been addicted to crack cocaine.
The charges on which he was found guilty include making a false statement on the gun application and being in possession of firearm while being a drug user.
Biden could face up to 25 years in prison, and a fine of up to $750,000, according to court filings. However, first time offenders rarely get the maximum penalty.
