Senate committee votes for Noem to head Department of Homeland Security

The Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee Monday voted to confirm South Dakota Gov. Kristi Noem to head the Department of Homeland Security.
The panel voted 13-2, according to The Hill. The Senate must still confirm Noem in a floor vote at a later date.
““Throughout the confirmation process, Governor Kristi Noem has demonstrated she is prepared to face the challenges of being DHS Secretary,” Sen. Rand Paul, R-Ky., said in a statement.
