Senate advances Patel's FBI nomination to final vote, setting up confirmation for later this week
Patel, who Trump nominated to replace former FBI Director Christopher Wray, testified in his confirmation hearing that he would bring integrity, transparency and honesty back to the bureau.
The Senate on Tuesday night voted to end debate on President Donald Trump's pick to lead the FBI, Kash Patel, advancing in nomination to a final vote by the end of the week.
Patel, whom Trump nominated to replace former FBI Director Christopher Wray, testified in his confirmation hearing that he would bring integrity, transparency and honesty back to the bureau.
The Senate voted to invoke cloture on Patel's nomination in a 48-45 vote along party lines. The vote comes after a Senate panel voted 12-10 along party lines last week to send his nomination to a floor vote.
Patel is expected to be confirmed in a final vote on Thursday, according to the New York Post.
